Uccello’s Hospitality Group is a West Michigan staple, locally and family owned, founded on Italian family values. UHG operates 8 restaurants in the Greater Grand Rapids area and strives to save a place for everyone at its table. Faro Uccello, Founder of UHG, opened the first Uccello’s Ristorante in 1996.

Uccello’s has since grown into 6 successful locations. In 2016, UHG launched a fast-casual concept, Herb & Fire Pizzeria, and has since added a second location.

Summary of Position:

Provide friendly, responsive service to create an exceptional dining experience for all of our guests. Each server’s primary objective is to show our guests such outstanding Hospitality that they will become a lifelong patron.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Maintains a Guest First focus while performing all duties
  • Welcome and greet all guests and make them feel comfortable as if they are a guest in our own homes.
  • Inform guests of specials and menu changes.
  • Make specific beverage, appetizer, entrée and dessert recommendations you genuinely feel your guests will enjoy.
  • Answer questions about our food, beverages and other restaurant functions and services.
  • Take food and beverage orders from guests, enter orders in our POS system.
  • Abide by all state, federal regulations and restaurant liquor policies pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests.
  • Deliver food and beverages from kitchen and bar to guests in a timely matter.
  • Provide proactive beverage refills
  • Pre-bus tables between each course.
  • Maintain clean and stocked service and dining areas.
  • Monitor and observe guests dining experience.
  • Ensure guests are satisfied with the food and service.
  • Respond promptly and courteously to any requests.
  • Notify manager-on-duty any time a guest is not 100% satisfied with their experience
  • Prepare final bill, present check to guest, accept payment, process credit card charges or make change (if applicable).
  • Thank guests for their visit and invite them to return.
  • Bus your section’s tables immediately upon guest departure.
  • Be ready and willing to assist fellow team members in any way possible as situations arise.
  • Perform side work at the start and end of each shift as required by service station assignment.
  • Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the management team.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Be 18 years of age.
  • Must possess a positive attitude and work well with other team members
  • Be able to work in a fast paced restaurant environment
  • Be able to communicate and understand the predominant language(s) of our guests.
  • Must have a basic knowledge of dining room and service procedures and functions.
  • Possess basic math skills and have the ability to handle money and operate a POS system.
  • Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
  • Be able to safely lift and easily maneuver trays of food frequently weighing up to 20 to 25 pounds.
